OUR THANKSGIVING TRADITION is no traditions. Each year is different. Chicken, beans & rice in Belize? Sure. Organize a potluck meal for 50 racer families in the pits at Las Vegas? Why not. Drive to Denver. Drive to Phoenix. Drive to Ouray. One year Doug Styers & I binge watched TV and ate Chinese food. For years at the farm in Collbran I cooked “orphan” Thanksgiving meals for family and random single friends on this antique stove. This year we are reviving the orphan meal for a few of our adult kids and some of their friends; and I’m excited to feed a hungry crowd again. Today I gave away the stove on the right to a stranger who needs it for their meal. Even though it is old, it is serviceable and I’m grateful for the opportunity to help. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
